The Main Street exhibit at The Museum in Greenwood, South Carolina was supposed to be the centerpiece of the first floor exhibit. But several challenges halted the project before it was completed, and it languished for several years in an unfinished state. Enter AJ Design. I worked with the executive director, Stacey Thompson, to plan and design the introduction board that welcomes visitors to the exhibit. There was also a three-part series of panels that was missing from the railroad depot section.
One challenging aspect of this project was matching the color and fonts from boards that were prepared when the exhibit was initially created. The original source files were lost, so I matched CMYK values for the layout with colors from the photo. The exhibit’s future visitors will never know that these key pieces were added years after the exhibit was started.
